FEELING INSPIRED

Feeling very inspired by the beautiful project by studio fludd about geology and icecream: GELATOLOGY. Here are just two of the very interesting collection declined in a limited edition of risograph prints.
I'd love them on my wall. I also think they'd be a perfect present to give someone loving icecreams, geology or both ... well perfect for myself then.

Find out more about GELATOLOGY project here and don't forget to have a look at stufio fludd's self publishing collection here.

PRACTICING SIMPLICITY

Pause. A short walk. Looking for autumn colors and listening to nature. Breath in and out. Let's unwind for a moment. Then back to my computer to meet all super tight deadlines.

OLD NEW PLACES

I like to discover new places in my own town as it sometimes happens when I take friends around for a walk in the old city center.
The shoe shop you see here is definitely a place I would have never discovered if it were not for my friend Lotte, who wanted to buy a pair of warm booties in there.
It felt so nice inside, with huge mirrors, beautiful chandeliers and super high shelves units. We were told it was once a book shop and allowed to have a little fun taking pictures.
Many white boxes filled the shelves silently where once many books lived on display.

A PORTRAIT A WEEK 41/52

A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013

Making pancakes became a well loved activity around here, as you may know already if you saw week 39 photo or if you follow me on Instagram.
Little E loves it even more now, so I decided to make baking pancakes for breakfast a weekend tradition of the house.   So far we are trying out a different recipe every time. Eventually we'll master our own customized recipe to perfection! Love his little proud face showing me how good he is in sifting or mixing. I also love the idea he will bake delicious pancakes by himself for someone he loves, one day.

Our maze in the make.
Craft afternoon. Work in progress.
He seems to enjoy sitting down for crafty activities more than he used to. Lovely for me.

COMMUNITY GARDEN (1)

I have joined a lovely project organized by my city council: a community orchard-garden. t is above all for people to socialize so it's a project open to anyone, expert or not, all ages welcome.
I was dragged into it by a couple of friends. Definitely a good idea. Maybe my own little garden at home will suffer some neglect out of this, but it was pure joy to see how much my 4 years old son enjoyed digging holes and watering plants.
So far he spent most of the time being the wild boy he is, together with other little wild friends whilst the rest of the people did the actual gardening bit.
Someone even built a lovely suspended wood bench, between trees.
Some children were seriously working with adults; eventually everyone will be interested in gardening together I think. Seeing people of all ages/kind involved in something like this is something I am not so used to. Growing a community whilst we grow some vegetables does not seem like a bad idea at all.

At the end everyone shared the same enthusiasm when we harvested salad and rucola last friday. Our very first crop. It was all divided into small heaps for people to take home (in very cute paper cones, I thought). All was planted in the beginning of september -can't believe how fast things grow.  Some children collected walnuts from one of the trees on the land and we shared those too.

Difficult to narrow down the choice of pictures so you'll get quite a lot here. I also promised myself to take Mrs Canon with me to take proper ones, next time. I will keep blog updates about the community orchard-garden project. I am curious myself about the outcomes.

A PORTRAIT A WEEK 39/52

E loves helping out in the kitchen, especially preparing cakes.
His favorite actions so far are sifting flower and mixing cake batter.
I would not mind him preparing me some pancakes one day soon :-)

4.10.13

Dedicated to my friend, who visited me from Denmark not so long ago and whose birthday is today. We had wonderful days together. Sometimes happyness is as simple as an old friend visiting, especially if you don't see her for a very long time. Would 4 years count as too long to wait? Definitely yes, if you ask me.

Above few pictures from our first day out in town.

1. breakfast in my garden
2.3.4. Lunch at the Modern Art Museum cafe -still a favorite of mine.
5. shopping for earings here
6. a beautiful chandelier in an old library turned shoe-shop

I love pictures connected to special moments, and love discovering new places in my own town. There will be plenty of both as soon as I can.
Happy Birthday Lotte.
