LAST TUESDAY

My beloved illustration tuesdays are for the time being on hold. Last week we had our last lesson with Octavia in the patio. Lovely to see what the others did come up with and the beautiful work that came out of this course.

Now that all story boards are completed, we will have the summer for the actual drawings and meet up again in September. Good work everyone!

LIFE

June is about to end, which means the year is half its way. My jar is slowly and beautifully filling up with little colored pieces of papers. I write them, fold them, put them in and close it. In each of them is written something beautiful that has happened to me since the beginning of the year. Whatever happens, small thing as well as more important things.

A Jar like this one teaches a lot about life. It works tremendously on sad days, or on difficult days. Simply opening it and watch the little papers in there is enough, I don't even need to read them yet. Today I tried to hold them all together in my hand but they are too many already, something that gives me a wonderful feeling.

Love your life.

BEYOND FABRIC

Some places do have what I call a "special place quality".  One of them is my friend Eduardo's shop Beyond FabricsI promised i would tell about it earlier and here am I to do so. Eduardo and Silvana run the shop and mastered a great selection of vintage fabric and more. If you like textiles and the world around it, you must visit this place in Shoreditch, London.
The shop is in Columbia Road which is a lovely location. I believe it hosts on Sundays a flower market, which sadly I did not see as we visited Eduardo on a quiet day during the week, but enjoyed it never the less. If you visit I also recommend lunch or meal at Brawn near by, here is when we had lunch with Eduardo.

As I said the selection of textiles is excellent, but you'll also find very unusual ribbons, embroidery material, fabric paper dolls, lovely personalized kits to make your own things,  wonderful quilts and much much more. If you are not near by or won't be in London any time soon, you can buy on line as well.
I bought myself a set of beautiful stamps and a bunting kit. Can't wait to use/assemble them and eventually I promise to show here the results.

Follow Beyondfabrics on instagram and facebook to be updated about supply and new material arrivals

E and cherries: a mysterious relationship. He looks at them as if they are the most wonderful things on Earth and then leaves them alone, often without a bite.

FIRED

Hello dear readers! Something from the past month I did not yet had time to share: my raku ceramics prototypes have been fired. Fire does change clay in such unespected way, every time it is a surprise and this never ceases to fascinate me. I will show and tell more about raku technique and this project soon. For the time being I am working hard on some illustration projects that really need to be handed in. Stay tuned.

Little E's first rainbow. Double. Breathtaking. Walking together in the rain beyond the fence to see it better. Wonderful experience for a 4 years old.
